Highlands Christian School Openings:

  • Highlands Christian Schools is prayerfully seeking spiritually mature, passionate, and nurturing early childhood educators who have been called to join our amazing team and minister to our students. We are looking to hire full-time teachers and have several openings available. Highlands Christian Schools is a ministry of the Church of the Highlands and by applying to this position, you are acknowledging your commitment to serving Jesus Christ within the ministry of the school.

    You will be tasked with engaging children in age- appropriate individual and group- based activities to stimulate growth in their spiritual, intellectual, social, physical, behavioral, and motor skills. We strive to foster an environment of creativity, individuality, safety, and social maturity.

    In order to qualify for this position you must have the following but not limited to:

    • At least 12 core ECE units, or 2 years experience working in a preschool setting, or 1 year teaching. Some experience working with children 2 - 5 year olds.

    • Must be a born-again believer in an active relationship with Jesus Christ.

    • May be working on a degree in early childhood education or a related field.

    • Must have a solid understanding of early childhood development and education.

    • Must have a general understanding of technology (i.e. GSuite)

    • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills in English

    • Ability to create safe and nurturing environments

    • Ability to supervise and care for Toddlers, including diaper changes and meal preparation

  • Highlands Christian Schools is seeking an energetic, outgoing PE teacher who prioritizes the physical fitness as well as the social-emotional development of their students. Highlands Christian Schools is a ministry of the Church of the Highlands and by applying to this position, you are acknowledging your commitment to serving Jesus Christ within the ministry of the school.

    The job responsibilities are but not limited to : 

    • Creating a physical education program to promote the development of the students’ physical attributes and social skills

    • Integrating biblical principles into the curriculum

    • Teaching individual and team sports to students and modifying each activity to adapt to the physical capabilities of the individual

    • Guiding students through sportsmanship and healthy competition

    • Conducting Presidential Fitness Tests for grades 4-8

    • Collaborating with parents to address behavioral or academic challenges

    • Earning an ACSI Teacher Certificate and renewing it as needed

    Qualifications include but are not limited to : 

    • Bachelor’s Degree (Exercise Science preferred)

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Highlands Christian Schools is seeking a dedicated Academy Teacher who is passionate about the academic and spiritual growth of their students. Highlands Christian Schools is a ministry of the Church of the Highlands and by applying to this position, you are acknowledging your commitment to serving Jesus Christ within the ministry of the school.

    The responsibilities of an ideal candidate include but are not limited to : 

    • Creating and implementing lesson plans for multiple subjects as well as integrating biblical principles into the curriculum

    • Using various methods to teach students about the subject such as lectures, demonstrations, audiovisual aids, etc.

    • Collaborating with parents to address behavioral or academic challenges

    • Maintaining strong classroom management in order to foster a productive learning environment

    • Earning an ACSI Teacher Certificate and renewing it as needed

    In order to qualify for this position you must have the following but not limited to : 

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field

    • Valid teaching certification 

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners

  • Highlands Christian Schools is seeking a caring, Christian role model to add to our Extended Care team. Through our Extended Care Program, we aim to enrich the lives of our Kindergarten through 8th grade students through a variety of after-school activities, as well as provide support to our Academy teachers during the school day. This program also offers classes throughout the summer which are led by our Extended Care teachers. Highlands Christian Schools is a ministry of Church of the Highlands and by applying to this position, you are acknowledging your commitment to serving Jesus Christ within the ministry of the school.

    The job responsibilities are but not limited to : 

    • Providing supervision of students to ensure safety before and after school hours, during recess,  and during classroom activities

    • Concluding the day with a clean, well-ordered classroom

    • Managing class activities scheduled for each grade level and assisting students to stay on task during scheduled homework time

    • Praying with students before snack time, before school, or as needed

    • Planning individual group activities to stimulate growth in language, social, and motor skills, such as learning to listen to instructions, playing with others, and using play equipment after school and during summer day care 

    • Substitute teaching as needed

    • Actively participating in summer camp through curriculum creation, teaching courses, and attending field trips

    The qualifications of the ideal candidate are but not limited to : 

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

    • Classroom management skills

    • Ability to relate to, empathize, and effectively communicate with children

    • Flexible; able to respond to a variety of demands

    • Ability to handle difficult situations involving student discipline or parent complaints

    • Understanding and practice of Christian values
